A Look at the Craps Game

Craps is an all-time favorite card game that can be played at any casual gathering or social event. Most craps games are easy to learn and play, requiring little or no skill except luck. Some craps variations, however, are more challenging. One of the most challenging is craps mixed with slots.

Craps is also a dice game where the players earn money by the roll of a set of dice, or multiple rolls. In “pool” craps, players may bet money against each other or an empty bank. Craps can also be played “free” and in this form, players take turns until there are two people left who have yet to fold. In free roll craps, there is no middle person; each person pays the starting hand and then does the same when all their buys are made. Another variation of craps is live roll craps, in which players compete against each other for the amount of chips at the beginning of the game. Live roll craps, unlike free roll craps, uses chips that are in small denominations and as such are not used for gambling purposes.

Craps is the simplest of casino games and to play it well one needs only a basic knowledge of mathematics, probability, and, if one wishes, luck. The best part about playing craps is that a good knowledge of the game is not necessary. It is also easy to learn how to manage your money and win or lose the game. Although the game of craps has been around for centuries, the current system of “lot” and “craps” was actually devised by an American land agent in the early Twentieth century. The name “lot” comes from the French word “lotro”, which meant “a field where to cultivate”.
